After spending nearly 30 years as Managing Director of my own business in Bucks my family and I moved to this delightful part of Devon to find a different life style, we have and we all love it.

We opened the Cottages in December 2006 after completely renovating them, we are graded 4/5 star by Visit Britain and are proud to announce a GOLD award from Green Tourism Business Scheme January 2010, these grades are difficult to achieve and clearly state our commitment to the environment and  quality, all fixtures, fittings, furniture, linen, towels etc. are brand new and constantly updated, you will not find a stale or tired cottage here, every thing is constantly monitored for quality you won't inherit someone else's dirty hand marks up the walls at Long Chimney, we monitor everything in great detail between clients leaving and new ones arriving, we will even accept your grocery delivery from Tesco , Sainsbury's or Waitrose  and put everything in its place ready for your arrival so you can start to enjoy your holiday as soon as you arrive, we also include fresh flowers , why start your holiday with a visit to a supermarket ?.

Our Cottages and house are set in 16 acres of our own land where you will see our horses grazing and an abundance of wildlife, we are members of Devon Wildlife Trust which is the only organisation exclusively concerned with all aspects of wildlife conservation in Devon. The gardens are maintained constantly so that you will enjoy your stay to the full at Long Chimney, just think you could be enjoying a nice relaxing time in your cottage and if you have children, they can be enjoying themselves in the games room just a short distance away. We are also able to offer a fitness room & sauna all included free of charge  for the exclusive use of our guests. Wi-Fi is  available in all cottages. Please note that our new 6 sleeper Stable Cottage will be available from May 21st  2010, see cottage description on this website, bookings are now being taken.

The cottages have been fully redecorated October 2009, carpets have also been cleaned throughout to maintain the high quality we offer. Our prices are fully inclusive including VAT no other charges are made apart for breakages (minor ones excluded).

We hope you book with Long Chimney Farm Cottages, you can book and pay online and we do not charge any commission for credit cards and if you do book, a Devon cream Tea will be waiting for you, we also provide a starter pack of Tea, Coffee and Sugar, The cottages have a very comprehensive information pack giving details of places of interest for adults and children alike on a day by day basis, there is also a booklet recommending restaurants, pubs, markets, and days out without the car, health and safety advise etc., please look at the inventory list it will avoid duplication of  items you require on holiday.
